Indoor Programme 2022/2023

As per every shooting season, here is the scheduled programme for this winter. We’ll be shooting indoor (and partly outdoors) until the end of March 2023.

We have chosen to align our club’s tournaments to the Welsh Archery Association winter postal league so every round scored by our members, will be a common participation in the Welsh country picture (you can always choose to not participate in the winter league if you wish, just letting us know).

Witches And Warlocks: the “Targets” List

Evil is Coming, and a great deal of Archers has risen to fight against it.

On Sunday the 30th of October, on Corus’ Battlefield, in Shotton, Witches And Warlocks will gather to excel in their magical art, one of the most supreme exquisite and elegant among all mystical skills: Archery.

Here is the: Target List

The day will see a number of awards being assigned.

Only one Witch and one Warlock will be elected as the true winner of the year, regardless of their experience and awarded a Magical Seal to boost their power (based on pumpkins hit).

Witches & Warlocks Open Shoot (2022)

Update – some bow style categories are already full and very few spaces are left. Check with the Tournament Organisers if there is room left before making the payment.

The magic is coming back this year, on the 30th of October with the Witches & Warlocks Open Shoot. Registration form at the bottom with entry fees of 8£ to 6£.

The game, is a fun moment to enjoy altogether a small tournament in special conditions. While the round will present a no efforts challenge to all experienced archers, it will be an opportunity for all clubs and families to get themselves a bit more familiar to the practice of tournaments.

Why to attend?

  1. it’s fun
  2. it’s cheap tournament practice (you can focus on the fun, but at the same time, you’ll familiarize with proper tournament conditions and boost your confidence)
  3. your official scores won’t be affected (it’s a minor shoot, get your a..rms over here)
  4. it’s excellent for junior and novices practices
  5. there’s Special Titles to win (see the awards)

The Club Championship

Hello hello,
crispy news!
(this is an email that previously circulated among the club’s mailing list)

Sunday 14th of August, will be the Club Championship.
What will the Corus Club Championship be?

We’d like to make it a special day, where on top of the usual shooting, we can enjoy archery little bit longer, have food together (a BBQ) all mixed to the pleasantry of extending the invite to your closest family. The event, is expected to run from 10am up about 3-4pm when it will close with the awards ceremony.

What-a-thrill, Head-2-Head

If we watch archery competitions on the telly, we (nearly) always see two archers competing against each other. One shoots an arrow, and then the other replies back.

Shooting a Head-2-Head down in Corus

They alternate, they shoot 3 arrows each, and then they call the scores.

Well, that’s what it’s called a Head-2-Head, and it’s a fundamental part of the practice, in becoming comfortable during a competition.

We thought about calling the BBC and WorldArchery down at the club… Continue reading “What-a-thrill, Head-2-Head”

UPDATE: The tournament on the 4th of September 2022 has been cancelled – due to a lack of response and too few entries received, break even parameters have forced us to cancel the tournament for this year.
