Level One Coaching Course

Last weekend three members of Corus Deeside Archery club took their first steps to being qualified coaches by attending the first two days of the Archery GB Level One Coaching Course. Sean Mark and Gareth travelled to deepest darkest Trefnant to learn from the masters.

Sean (blindfolded) being shown how to coach and support a blind archer.

Gareth had this to say about the weekend “It’s great that Corus Deeside Archery Club has helped me develop my career as an archer by sending me on this course. There was a lot to learn during the first two days and there is more to come over the next two, but it’s been so much fun and everyone has been so friendly, supportive and helpful. I’m looking forward to putting what I’ve learned into practice when I help out with our club’s beginner courses and have a go sessions. I have had lots of help from the existing coaches here at Corus Deeside Archery Club, it will be great to be able to give something back and help and support new archers as they develop their skills.”

Sean, Mark and Gareth have one more day of training followed by a day of assessment.

Good luck to the three of you!
