As the club now has a number of qualified coaches, we have been running beginners courses this year.

A large number of the beginners on the previous course have become full members of the club. We are not planning to run anymore beginners course before the winter. This will allow us the work with the new members of the club.

If you are interested in starting archery, then please register your interest by contacting either Patrick Beckett or Patricia Windust by using the 'contact us' link. You will be added to the waiting list and contacted when the next beginners course is scheduled.

Archery is a physical sport which puts certain stresses on the body. As such, this restricts the age at which we can successfully, and safely, teach a child. We have placed a minimum age of 8 years old on both boys and girls.

Please refer to the FAQs for some more detailed information on our beginners courses.

Please Note : Corus (Deeside) Archery Club requires a parent, or guardian appointed by the parent, to accompany children below school leaving age. If you are thinking of taking up Archery, as a serious sport or as a hobby pastime, you are strongly advised not to buy any equipment until you have completed the Beginners Course and are familiar with the different types of equipment available and what is suitable for you.
